A useful bag filter housing quotation starts with the process conditions, not only a housing photo or a request for “one stainless steel filter.” Prepare the service liquid, filtration objective, target flow, operating and design conditions when known, bag size and quantity, housing material request, connection details, seal requirements, installation layout, quantity, and available drawings or photographs.
Single-bag and multi-bag housings are not selected by one universal flow threshold. The correct path depends on the complete system, including liquid properties, solids loading, filter-bag media and micron rating, acceptable pressure drop, operating schedule, installation space, maintenance approach, and project requirements. Describe what the filtration step is expected to do. State the service liquid and any known chemistry or concentration, the contaminant or solids of concern, the filtration objective, and the downstream equipment or process being protected. If the request replaces an existing housing, explain the current problem: difficult sourcing, leakage, short bag life, excessive changeout frequency, pressure rise, capacity limits, corrosion concern, layout constraint, or another documented issue.
Provide the current filter-bag media and micron rating when known. Preserve the source wording for nominal or absolute rating. Do not state a fixed maximum flow, pressure rating, or service life for a housing family without an approved drawing or product-specific data. Final design and operating limits must be confirmed for the proposed configuration.
State the intended filter-bag size and the number of bags per housing. Size #1 and Size #2 are common descriptions, but the label alone is not enough to confirm fit. Provide actual bag diameter and length, ring or collar style, basket dimensions, sealing arrangement, and the current housing model when available.

Photographs can support identification, but they do not establish pressure rating, wall thickness, material grade, seal chemistry, connection standard, or final fit. Mark unknown values clearly instead of estimating them as confirmed specifications.
Supply normal and peak flow with units. State whether the value is for one housing, a complete train, or the full process system. Include normal operating pressure and temperature, and provide design pressure and design temperature only when those values are already established in approved project documents.
If differential-pressure information is available, identify the clean or initial value, current operating value, and the site-approved changeout limit. There is no universal differential-pressure limit for every bag, housing, pump, and process. Final limits and procedures must follow the selected equipment documentation, system design, and site requirements.
Also identify whether operation is continuous or batch, whether flow can vary, whether the housing must remain online during maintenance, and whether redundancy or duty/standby operation has already been specified by the project.
Provide the requested housing material and the reason for that request when known. Housing, basket, support, fastener, seal, and other wetted materials should be reviewed against the complete service conditions.

Do not identify a seal material from color or appearance. If the material is undocumented, mark it as unknown and provide the process information needed for review. Do not claim food, beverage, pharmaceutical, potable-water, chemical, or other regulated suitability without product-specific documentation and project confirmation.
State the inlet and outlet size, connection type or standard, and orientation. Note whether threaded, flanged, clamp, or another connection is required, but do not assume two connections with the same nominal size use the same standard or dimensions.
Include the desired or existing:
A simple marked-up sketch can be more useful than a verbal description. Show pipe direction, nearby equipment, floor or skid location, overhead clearance, maintenance aisle, and any fixed connection points.
