Melt Blown Cartridges

Melt blown filter cartridges are depth-style cartridges used for sediment and particulate reduction in water and process-liquid filtration. The correct specification depends on cartridge length, outside and inside diameter, micron rating, core configuration, end details, flow, pressure, temperature, liquid, and housing compatibility. A product-family name is not enough to confirm the required element.

Cartridge configuration

Polypropylene melt blown cartridges are often requested for sediment filtration. Frequently requested lengths may include 10, 20, 30, and 40 inches, but final availability must be confirmed. Record the required outside and inside diameter or provide the housing model. State whether a coreless or cored configuration is required and identify the open-end or other end configuration shown on the current cartridge.

Provide the current micron rating or the required sediment rating together with the filtration objective. Review the cartridge path against the target flow, operating pressure, differential pressure when known, liquid type, normal and peak temperature, and housing fit. Water-treatment pre-filtration, RO pre-treatment, process water, chemical or process-liquid sediment removal, and general industrial filtration can be reviewed only when the material and operating requirements are confirmed.

If a dimensional or connection field is unknown, identify it as unknown rather than selecting a value from a similar-looking cartridge. Housing information and measured evidence can be used during the complete specification and quotation review.

Replacement identification

When replacing an installed cartridge, measure the element and photograph the full cartridge, both ends, labels, and the housing if accessible. A current model, drawing, part number, or sample reference can reduce ambiguity. Do not rely only on an appearance, family name, or nominal length when the diameter, core, end configuration, and housing interface also affect the review.
